About
Greetings! Deva is an 11 year old long haired tortie. Adopted from the RSPCA by my lovely daughter Emily, Deva came into our lives 7 years ago. This little ball of smoochiness was so timid to start with. She had been adopted and rejected by two families before coming to us, so she was very unsure of herself and spent most of her time hiding. Deva did not like other people very much and was nervous around children.
Over time, this gentle soul has relaxed and understands she is in a safe place. Nowadays, Deva is quite social when people come to visit. Animals are definitely living in the moment, but it takes a lot of moments to build up trust with any living being that has had a difficult start.
I have had two other cats with cancer (but not bone cancer)… both long haired ginger toms. Tigger adopted me (we lived next door to him and his human). Every day he would come and knock on the door, until eventually he decided he was living with us! We adopted Muhkti after seeing an ad in the paper that a family was moving to the UK and could not take their 9 yo cat…What a flirt! He had a big pawsonality and was definitely not shy. He lived to 20 and I felt bereft when he decided to take himself off to die.
Anyway, this blog is about Deva. She is a quiet girl most of the time, but lives up to her naughty tortie name. I am looking forward to her getting her crazy back on…
I am Deva’s human – I work as a Quality Manager at a university in Melbourne, Australia. Deva and I are so happy to be sharing this three legged journey with the tripawds community.
Thanks for making us feel so welcome.
